SlaveCheck Submission on
Inquiry into the Procurement Practices
of Government Agencies in NSW and its Impact on Social Development of the People of NSW
SlaveCheck is pleased to present our submission for the Inquiry into the Procurement Practices of Government Agencies in NSW and its Impact on Social Development of the People of NSW.
Our Chairperson, Paul Green, who introduced the first Modern Slavery Bill to the NSW parliament, brings his vast experience and expertise to the submission.
Firstly, the New South Wales Government should be commended for leading the Modern Slavery response in Australia and the world.
Recommendations include:
-
The NSW Government implements a whole-of-government approach to mapping modern slavery supply chains with modern slavery software across public procurement, including BuyNSW and eTendering.
-
The NSW Government utilises modern slavery software across government agencies that can interface directly with the NSW Anti-Slavery Commissioner’s reporting database.
